Glossary of moving
terminology

Upon arrival
to pick up your goods, the mover may
make notations on an inventory, or a
bill of loading, about any
pre-existing damage to the furniture.
If a written inventory is prepared,
make sure that an accurate
description of the condition of your
furniture is entered on the record.
Before signing such record, note on
it any exceptions you may have as to
the condition description. For
example, the driver may note that
"chest is scratched." You may add for
example, "on left side only," if that
is the case.
